Theses are very unique pants. They originally were M-43 field pants.But, the government had lots of them so they sent them to a sewing contractor and had a cargo pocket sewn on the legs, and a new label inside. The color of the cargo pocket is a different shade of olive than the pant. Now they are M-51 Pants. If you look at the inside waist band they are herring bone. They are NOS "New Old Stock" , meaning new, never worn.

They are close to being experimental.
